Description
Summary:
Provide quality assurance solutions to the Chilhowie, Virginia plant through engineering analysis, testing, auditing, etc. The Quality & Process Engineer is responsible for completing a set of goals and objectives that improve the quality of product and services that Scholle Packaging provides to its customers.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering analysis and provide solutions to issues in assigned manufacturing departments.
Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process change.
Investigate and maintain customer complaint records and establish projects / programs to reduce or eliminate top issues.
Problem solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions using Six Sigma tools and root cause analysis. Works well in group problem solving situations.
Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
Conduct product and system audits to evaluate and improve products and processes.
Create quality specifications and test methodologies for new and existing products.
Drive implementation of resolutions and provide hands-on assistance.
Perform designed experiments (DOE) to evaluate and improve products and processes.
Support major plant-wide initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, SQF 2000, Gauge Calibration.
Support product development through testing and analysis.
Integral part of working and mentoring teams to resolution by using Six Sigma tools
Ability to facilitate kaizen and six sigma project events with teams
Work daily with trouble shooting plant quality process issues and support MDI program
Ability to outsource as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in Engineering from a four year college or university.
A minimum of 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
Preferred experience would include Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, ASQ Quality Engineering certification, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products is desired.
Previous experience with Minitab or other statistical software is preferred.
